Excel Pilates Teacher Training Tracks
There are three tracks to the Excel Pilates Teacher Training Program: the Seminar Format, Independent Study and Immersion/Independent Study. Independent Study and Immersion/Independent Study are ongoing; apply at anytime.
Program Includes:
- Ten Private Sessions at Excel Pilates Northern Virginia
- Powerhouse hour sessions (scheduled throughout apprenticeship)
- Access to Excel Pilates Northern Virginia for practice and practice teaching hours
- Teaching Manual
- Seminars
- Observations
- Free solo workouts
- Feedback on teaching
- Certificate of completion of Excel Pilates Teacher Training Program upon passing all examinations with a grade of 85% or higher
Seminar Format
The Seminar Format of the Excel Pilates Teacher Training Program presents the entire material over four intensive weekend seminars, with multiple apprentices participating. There is a firm application due date and start date.

Independent Study Format
The Independent Study format can be with or without the Immersion format. Independent Study may start at any time; the application deadline does not apply. The same outline, inclusions and fees as the seminar format or immersion format apply, however the seminar weekends are replaced with 50 hours of independent study teacher training hours with a director or member of the faculty. This format allows flexibility for the apprentice on when to begin the program.

Immersion Study Format
The Immersion format of the Excel Pilates Teacher Training Program is designed to assist individuals in preparing for entry to the Excel Pilates Teacher Training Program. At Excel, we believe that to teach Pilates you should know Pilates. The Immersion format allows you to study the work of Joseph Pilates intensively while working independently with Excel program faculty. This is a track for someone who wants to complete the Teacher Training Program, but is not yet at the experienced level with his/her Pilates training. Participants learn to teach the vast repertoire of Pilates exercises on both the Mat and Apparatus with confidence. This one year comprehensive Teacher Training program is designed to accelerate each participant’s readiness to teach as well as provide individual instruction in Teacher Training.
Program Outline and Inclusions are the same as Seminar Format with the addition of 30 one-on-one sessions to advance personal study.
Cost for Immersion/Independent Study Format: $10,440 (cash or check only).
($7,890 TTP + $2,550 Immersion One on One sessions)
For All Teacher Training Tracks
Prerequisite seminar/session as needed(separate fee). Program hours can be completed at Excel Pilates Northern Virginia, Excel Pilates DC and Excel Pilates Annapolis. Annual Continuing Education Seminars required upon completion of the program(separate fee). There is limited enrollment for each session.
